In this tutorial we are going to practice how to make wallpaper. Why to download or even to pay for the wallpapers if you can make them yourselves only having Photoshop installed on your computer.

Many people already changed their opinion about monitor proportions from 4:3 (normal) to 16:9 (wide) so that is why we will create a wide screen aspect ratio document.



Create a new layer. It is better to leave the background as it is.



Use this layer to overlay it with cyan to white rounded gradient.



There we have it. But still this picture has not enough contrast, it has not enough blacks.

Create another layer and overlay it with black to transparency gradient.







I‘ve added a little bit of black.

When you think you re done with dropping black colors, merge these 2 gradient layers together.



I've used a spherize filter to my layer. The effect- we get a border between black and cyan color, the color blends less.



To see what I can get out of this result a usually create a copy of the layer not to mess everything up.



Transform the layer or just flip it horizontally



Change a little bit the color but leave it cooled toned. Use hue/saturation in adjustment settings.

Now let's make these 2 layers blend with each other.

Got this I'm going to use a mask and a black to white gradient to hide a part of the image.







When you think you're done merge these 2 layers together.



Like in the earlier stages create a copy of this layer – you should have only 1.



I will use a filter to the top of my copies.

Now almost every design needs a text to be there. Note that I've created and have hidden some of the effects using a rounded gradient on the mask.

Moreover I've created a text layer between background layers (see the screenshot) so the top layer mask has an effect on the text too.



See how the text blends at the right side.

I've also dropped some king of logo interpretation. It can be definitely be some object or another text line, everything you thing feats there.



Next what I did I've rasterized the text layer and I've created a copy of it.



On the lower text copy use a Gaussian blur.

In combination with logo; See there is no distortion in the center.

And another thing: the middle part of the text pops out and looks sharp. I've also used mask to hide the sides of my text.







And our final step will be putting best tutorial site) marking in the lower bottom corner.
