First
I would like to change the head position. For this I'm going to select
the around the head area and just drag it (V + drag).
Begin to drop shadows and midtones defining the shape of the head.
I've got this line brush. You can make lines brush very easily. Just use a type tool and type: IIIIIIIIII or iiiiiiiiiii or!!!!!!!!! And then just define the brush.
I tell you, I haven't got any great result with
the head so I've just
made it disappear. BAD BAD – example * you shouldn't fear to
paint what you can't!!!!
I've also dropped some shadows with low flow soft brush.
Now the background. As it is a sketch I'm not going to create detailed background here.
I will show how to create a background very fast.
Use the flat brush I hope you've created.
Use 0% motion blurs and there we have it.
I've also dropped some bounce lights. Using low flow white colored brush.
Practice a lot – speed and quality and everything else will come in time.

It would have been more friendly if it was specified more easily and added more easy comments.

Nice shading, and the clothing looks really good, but the facial structure could use more definition and refinement of the features.

but the outcome is nothing but a doodle, not even something whole.....
sorry but this tutorial in sketching is one of the worse i've seen
only thing that looks fine is the hand, the belly and the pants.
and what are those weird flat brushstrokes on the face, cmon!

lol, people get mad because its way hard for them or they simply cant draw? Come one people, I saw a lot of drawing/sketching/painting tutorials its not something you could learn in one week. I bet if the author would color his sketch it would look very great, its a sketch as I could see the artist has great drawing skills. For all those lamers who can draw, just dont disrespect the authors who are many times better then you. Beside you need a wacom for this, since it supports pressure. Its not ugly its a unique style.
