Making a GEM tutorial

I'm using purple gamma changing the tone a little bit. The brush and pen pressure does everything else.

Now let's make the side reflections.

Use Lasso Tool. Make this kind of selection.

Create a layer.

Also apply a mask to hide the part of the effect.

Now

maybe the most important, if you a making the gem with such Polygon edges the reflections got to be correct.

I've used this Gradient to hide or expose my effect, my white gradient fill in this case.

Now a little general reflection and we are done here.

I've also desaturated my background to pop up the gem. Well this is it i hope you enjoyed and learned something from my tutorial, and I welcome you into my nest tutorial on making the stones.

It looks nice in the end, good job. However, as a tutorial I can only rate it 3 stars. I believe you left out some important steps. I am still a novice, so of course I may not understand everything in depth. There's many "in between" steps you should add next time, maybe. In here I'm mainly speaking about your pattern image in the pen options (maybe I am using a version without it, not sure if it's default, if so, my bad). Also the GEM magically became a purple color. I don't want to be a pest or anal or anything. Just some constructive criticism. The final product however is awesome.
