Today we are going to do a painting tutorial. We will also study and interesting gradient technique that I've figured out. So enough talking let's start painting.



Create 2 layer one of which has to be filled with basic black to white gradient.

Select this gradient to tint the area with some color.



The blending mode is color.



I've warped the gradient a little bit.



..A little bit of color correction as well.



Make this gradient now. As you can see the half of the gradient is transparent.



And look here what we can do with this one.











I will leave it like so with a little bit tone correction.



It gives me a filling now that this is some king of theater stage. And it definitely has to be an actor there.

Here is my actor sketch. As you can see it has a light falling on the shoulders of the actor.







I'm refining the character a little bit.
