Chrome Metal Text Effect

Create reflective chrome lettering with bevel and emboss, gradient overlays, and specular highlights for stunning metallic typography.

Step 1: Create Text Layer

Open a new 800×600px document with a dark gray (#2a2a2a) background.

Type your text with Arial Black at 120pt, color white.

Step 2: Apply Bevel and Emboss

Double-click the text layer. Bevel & Emboss: Style Inner Bevel, Depth 250%, Size 5px, Angle 120°, Highlight Opacity 75%.

Step 3: Chrome Gradient Overlay

Add Gradient Overlay: silver (#e8e8e8) to dark gray (#4a4a4a) to white (#ffffff), Style Reflected, Angle 90°.

Step 4: Specular Highlight

Duplicate text layer. Set Fill to 0%. Add Satin: Blend Mode Overlay, Color white, Opacity 50%, Distance 11px.

Step 5: Drop Shadow Depth

On original layer add Drop Shadow: black, Distance 8px, Size 12px, Opacity 60%.

Step 6: Environment Reflection

Place a subtle environment texture above text, clip (Ctrl+Alt+G), set to Overlay 30%.

Step 7: Final Polish

Add a Curves adjustment layer to boost contrast. Sharpen with High Pass at 1px on Overlay.
