Target individual color channels to shift hues, boost saturation, or mute distracting tones for polished commercial photography.

Step 1: Identify Problem Colors

Open photo. Note which colors need adjustment — oversaturated reds, dull blues, etc.

Step 2: Add Selective Color

Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Selective Color. Start with Reds channel.

Step 3: Adjust Reds

Reds: Cyan -20%, Magenta +10%, Yellow +5%, Black 0%. Shifts red toward warmer orange.

Step 4: Tune Blues and Cyans

Blues: Cyan +15%, Magenta -5%, Yellow -20%. Makes skies more vibrant and clean.

Step 5: Neutral Tones

Whites: add slight warmth with Yellow +3%. Blacks: Cyan +5% for rich shadows.

Step 6: Mask Selectively

Paint on adjustment mask to limit changes to specific image areas only.

Step 7: Compare Channels

Toggle each channel adjustment individually to see isolated effect before finalizing.
